Cerence password policy and requirements

 

 

Password Policy:

 

Password Format: (Your new password must meet the following requirements)

·       Not contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters

·       Password must not contain banned words or names. These include words relating to Cerence, Cerence partners and our customers.

·       Passwords must be at least twelve characters long.

·       Passwords must contain characters from the following four categories:

o   English uppercase characters (A…Z)

o   English lowercase characters (a…z)

o   Numeric digits (0…9)

o   Non-alphabetical characters (!, $, #, %)

 

·       Your password cannot be changed more than once within 24 hours unless you contact the Global Service Desk.

·       After resetting your Cerence password, you may be prompted for your password on Laptop, Teams, Outlook and Mobile Phone Mail client.

 

 

 

 

How do you change your password?

 

On-Network Users: (If you are located in a corporate office)

·       Close Outlook and all other applications

·       Be sure you have no other active login sessions on other computers via (Remote Desktop, VNC, PCAnywhere, Terminal Services, etc.)

·       Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to access Microsoft Windows Security Window

·       Press the “Change Password…” button

·       Enter your old password, then your desired new password twice, and click “OK”.

 

On VPN

·       Close Outlook and all other applications

·       Be sure you have no other active login sessions on other computers (Remote Desktop, VNC, PCAnywhere, Terminal Services, etc.)

·       Establish a VPN session (verify that the “VPN Client – Connected” secured-icon appears in your Windows taskbar)

·       Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to access Microsoft Windows Security Window

·       Press the “Change Password…” button

·       Enter your old password, then your desired new password twice, and click “OK”

 

On Zscaler

·         Ensure Zscaler Authentication status is set to ‘Authenticated’

·         Close Outlook and all other applications.

·         Be sure you have no other active login sessions on other computers (Remote Desktop, VNC, PCAnywhere, Terminal Services, etc.)

·         Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to access Microsoft Windows Security Window

·         Press the “Change Password…” button

·         Enter your old password, then your desired new password twice, and click “Submit”

 

VERY IMPORTANT

·       Press CTRL-ALT-DEL again, and select 'Lock Computer'

·       Once locked, press CTRL-ALT-DEL again, and unlock the computer with the new password. This way we guarantee that the next time you start your computer you can login with your new password even if you are not connected via VPN.

       

Mac Users and Remote Users

·       Close Outlook , Teams and all other applications

·       Go to https://mypassword.cerence.com

·       Choose “I need to change my password”

·       Provide your  Domain Username

·       Enter your current password (note: you will need your Authenticator app)

·       Close & Restart your E-Mail client, provide your new password when prompted

·       You will also need to update your password on all your mobile devices where you have your Cerence Email or Cerence wifi configured.

 

 

Password already expired

·       Please visit https://mypassword.cerence.com and follow the instructions

·       Choose “I need to reset my password”

 

 

Mobile Phone users

·       After resetting your password, you should also update your password on your Smartphone.

o   Example: E-Mail client, Skype for Business, Cerence Wifi.

o   Failure to do so may result in your account being locked out or missed email and calendar reminders.
